An antique Japanese hand-painted glazed porcelain figure. Late Meiji era, before 1912. The piece represents Daikokuten, the syncretic Japanese deity of fortune and wealth. He is portrayed as a smiling man with a rotund belly, holding a mallet and sitting on rice bales. Collectible Oriental Asian Porcelain Ware And Decor.
