ANTIQUE CHINESE CARVED LANDSCAPE LIBATION CUP
An antique Chinese libation cup made of natural horn. Qing era, 19th century. The piece is carved to the exterior with a classic Taoist landscape scene of scholars, a master and his pupil, beside pine trees. After an ink painting on silk titled Quietly Listening to the Wind in the Pines by Ma Lin, ca. 1240, Song era. The original artwork from which this piece refers, was a gift to the Emperor Li-Tsung.
