A lot of two color lithographs, reproductions of charcoal painting by Alexandre Yakovlev, also spelt Jacovleff, 1887 to 1938, a Russian emigre artist of neoclassicist movement, student of Dmitry Kardovsky. First. A portrait of an Afghan man with a gun. Signed by the artist, dated May 23, 1931 and titled Un Turcoman, Heirat in the lower right. Second. A portrait of a Mongolian woman in traditional clothing. Signed by the artist, dated 1931 and titled illegibly in the lower right. Wooden frames. Between 1931 and 1932, Yakovelev was the Artistic Adviser of a Citroen expedition across Asia. He travelled through Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Mongolia and China, and created a number of orientalist paintings. Collectible Graphic Art Prints, Orientalism.
