Lev Kropivnitsky, Russian Soviet era, 1922 to 1994, a pair of bookplate etchings on paper depicting Figurative scenes and portraits. The first, Ex Libris of U. Walter, depicts portraits of two young girls, a cow, and a cat, signed and dated 1977 in pencil, lower right, inscribed in the plate, upper right. The second, Ex Libris N. Bode, depicts a Surreal scene with a male nude figure and a goose, signed and dated 1977 in pencil lower right, inscribed in the plate, lower left. Lev Evgenievich Kropivnitsky is an artist, graphic artist, and poet, one of the most important masters of the Lianozovsky group, the first of the artistic centers of Moscow unofficial art, born during the Thaw era.
