RUSSIAN SOVIET PORTRAIT PAINTING BY TATYANA GLEBOVA - Tatyana Glebova, Russian, Soviet era, 1900 to 1985, a tempera painting on paperboard depicting a portrait of a woman, A Woman at the Punins Memorial Evening, 1966. Signed, titled, and dated, on the backside. Framed. Tatyana Glebova was a Russian and Soviet artist, the wife of Vladimir Sterligov, a Soviet avant garde artist, and a student of Kazimir Malevich. In 1926 Glebova met Pavel Filonov and became his student. She also joined a group of artists called Masters of Analytic Art. This artwork shows the direct influence of Filonov and his circle.
