RUSSIAN 88 GILT SILVER CLOISONNE ENAMEL TEA CADDY - A Russian 88 gilt Silver and enamel tea caddy of a tapering cuboid form with cut edges made in a column design with a seashell on top, and a detachable lid. The ware is enameled with polychrome floral, foliage, and scrollwork patterns, and images of Sirin birds made in the Cloisonne technique. The tea caddy is encrusted with semi precious stones throughout the body. The lid of the ware is adorned with a polychrome image of a flower and octopus tentacles made in the same technique. Completed with a gilt stopper inside. Marked with a standard Russian 88 Silver hallmark, a makers mark, and other marks.
