RUSSIAN CHRIST ICON IN SILVER AND ENAMEL RIZA - A fine quality antique Russian Orthodox icon of Christ Pantocrator, the Lord Almighty, or Savior Jesus Christ. Hand painted in a mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon features an embossed 84 silver riza or oklad, adorned with highly detailed polychrome cloisonne enamel patterns. Hallmarked with the Cyrillic makers mark IR, 84th Imperial Russian silver standard and George the Victorious for Moscow. Circa the late 19th century.
