ANTIQUE FRENCH NAPOLEON III TANTALUS JEWELRY BOX - An antique mid-19th century French tantalus bar case turned into a jewelry box. Second Republic, the era of Napoleon III, 1848 to 1852. The footed tantalus is made of black lacquered wood with decorative mother-of-pearl inlay. The key-lock front self-folds to reveal four compartments lined with blue velvet.
