NATIVE AMERICAN ZUNI STERLING AND TURQUOISE BROOCH - A Native American Zuni medallion shaped Sterling Silver brooch. The brooch is adorned with an image of a bird with a flower and cacti, inlaid with iridescent materials, and encrusted with turquoise stones to the edge. A pin clasp is on the backside. Unmarked. Circa: the second half of the 20th century. Since the early 19th century the Zuni have been known for making silver and turquoise jewelry, baskets, beadwork, animal fetishes, and pottery, all of very high quality. Weight 26 grams.
