RUSSIAN ICON OF JESUS CHRIST IN GILT SILVER OKLAD
An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of Jesus Christ in Pantocrator iconography, known in the Western Christianity as Christ in Majesty. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Gilt silver riza or oklad with repousse decor. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the side of the riza. The backside of the icon is covered with pink velvet. Russian Christian Religious Items and Collectibles.
