1917 RUSSIAN CLAY TOY ILLUSTRATED CATALOGUE BY ALEXEI DENSHIN - An exceptionally rare fully hand crafted Russian catalogue titled Clay Toy from Vyatka in Drawings, published by the author, Alexei Denshin, in 1917, Moscow. Limited edition of 300 copies. Signed by the author on the third page. The soft cover is decorated with collage and gilding. The catalogue features drawings hand-colored with egg paints that reproduced original figurines. The drawings are glued to each page, the introductory text has been lithographed in sepia from Denshins own calligraphy. Alexei Denshin, 1893 to 1948, was a Russian artist and popularizer of clay toys, a Russian folk craft the most famous centers of which are Dymkovo and Vyatka.
