RUSSIAN ORTHODOX SAINT NICHOLAS OF MYRA ICON
A Russian Orthodox icon showing Saint Nicholas of Myra, also known as Nicholas of Bari. Hand painted with egg tempera, gesso and levkas on the wood panel. Nicholas is depicted as an Orthodox bishop, wearing the omophorion and holding a Gospel Book. There is Christ over his right shoulder holding out a Gospel Book to him and Theotokos over his left shoulder holding the omophorion. Circa the mid late 20th century. Because of the many miracles attributed to intercession of Nicholas, he is also known as Nicholas the Wonderworker. Russian Orthodox Icons And Religious Collectibles.
