The icon depicts the Theotokos in a specific manner, standing beneath her Son, who is in Heaven as a king, and surrounded by people and angels. Hand-painted in tempera on wood panel with a chased and embossed silver gilt oklad, hallmarked with an 84 Imperial Russian silver standard, George the Victorious for Moscow, an assay mark with the date 1843, and the makers mark.
