RUSSIAN SOVIET ERA NAVAL OFFICER DIRK DAGGER
A vintage Russian Soviet naval dirk dagger, an element of the dress uniform of naval officers in the Soviet Union. The edged steel blade marked Bulat, dated 1983 and numbered at the ricasso. The crossguard has a S shape construction. The celluloid grip is set with gilt brass fittings showing the Soviet coat of arms. The scabbard is leather covered and complete with upper, center, and lower gilt fittings with two suspension rings. The upper fitting has an engraved anchor to one side and an engraved sailing boat to the other. Was used as a part of the navy parade uniform at the end of the Cold War. Dates to the late 1980s.
