ANTIQUE JAPANESE PORCELAIN IMARI BOWL WITH STAND
A Japanese Imari-style porcelain bowl. Late Meiji period, 1868-1912. The hand-painted design represents floral medallions, the rims are decorated with blue geometrical patterns. Hand-painted hallmark S155B is on the bottom of the piece. The bowl comes with a carved wooden stand. Imari ware is a Western term for a brightly-coloured style of Japanese export porcelain from the Arita region in the 17-18th centuries. The original Sothebys auction labels are attached.
