Yuri Pavlovich Annenkov, Russian, Soviet era, 1889 to 1974, oil painting on board, Leda. Signed lower left. Framed. An original paper label of Raydon Gallery is on the backside. Yuri Annenkov is a Russian artist, known for Book illustration, portrait painting, and costume design. Yury Pavlovich Annenkov, also known as Georges Annenkov, was born in 1889 in Petropavlovsk, Russian Empire. He was a Russian artist mostly known for his book illustrations and portraits. He also worked as a theatre and cinema designer. He captured portraits of Akhmatova, Blok, Meyerhold and Trotsky, Lunacharsky, and Stalin and went from a Russian artist of the Silver Age to a titled French designer. One of a kind of artwork.
