A RUSSIAN CIGARETTE CASE 84 SILVER NIELLO 1901
A gorgeous Russian rectangular Silver Cigarette Case adorned on a top lid with carved floral patterns and an image of horse rider in Niello technique. On the back cover there are geometric patterns and initials LK engraved on blackened silver. The gilt interior of the Cigarette Case contains a carved Congratulatory Russian text - We present it on Angel Day to board member Leon Tarasovich Kolotukhin, from the clerks of the Economy shop, June 18, 1901. Marked with Russian hallmarks, 84 Silver mark, Kokoshnik, and other Cyrillic and Assay marks. Provenance: Christie’s, 24 March 16, Sale 12189, Lot 94. Total weight: 129.3 g.
