Gouache painting on paper by Eduardo Zamacois y Zabala, 1841 to 1871, a Spanish Academic painter who specialized in small-scale canvases. The artwork represents a study for the 1868 painting titled Return to the Abbey, now in the collection of the Carmen Thyssen Museum in Malaga. It depicts monks near the church harnessing donkeys.
