RUSSIAN CHRIST ICON IN SILVER RIZA AND KIOT FRAME - An Imperial Russian Orthodox icon depicting Jesus Christ in the Pantocrator iconography, known in the Western Christianity as Christ in Majesty. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board, gilt edges. The icon is enclosed in a silver riza or oklad, a protecting case with repousse work, as well as a wooden kiot framing case. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers mark are on the bottom part of the riza. There is a suspension ring on the backside. Antique Russian Orthodox Religious Items and Collectibles.
