IMPERIAL RUSSIAN GUNMETAL MATCH SAFE WITH RUBIES
An Imperial Russian gunmetal match safe with a hinged lid. The case is decorated with crowned gilt relief initials MA, presumably referring to Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich of Russia, the youngest brother of the emperor Nicholas II. The crown is garnished with a faceted ruby stone and crystals. Ruby cabochon embellishes the lid. Silver-tone enamel decoration on the backside of the case. There is a suspension ring on the side.
