ISLAMIC GILT BRASS QALAMDAN PEN BOX WITH INKWELL
An antique 19th-century gilt brass pen box. Presumably Persian, Qajar period, 1795 to 1925. Qalamdan literally means pen container in Persian. Traditionally, it has the form of an oblong narrow deep box with rounded ends. This lot also has a small square compartment for ink, the lid of the inkwell is decorated with a figurative shell. The sides are engraved with human figures and Arabic calligraphy. Collectible Oriental Decor And Deck Accessories.
Dimensions: L 7 in. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. Refer to photos. Sold as is.
