After Giambologna, Italian, 1529 to 1608, an antique bronze sculpture depicting a figure of Mercury, the swift messenger of the ancient Roman gods. On a stone base. Circa the late 19th or the early 20th century. Giambologna was the last significant Italian Renaissance sculptor, with a large workshop producing large and small works in bronze and marble in a late Mannerist style.
