VINTAGE ROYAL COPENHAGEN THOMSEN PORCELAIN FIGURE
A rare vintage Danish Royal Copenhagen hand painted porcelain figurine of a boy on a goat. Designed by Christian Thomsen and inspired by Blockhead Hans, a literary fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Marked to the base with the manufacturer stamp and the model number 1228. Circa the 1920s or the early 1930s. Christian Thomsen, 1860 to 1921, was a Danish sculptor, who was employed at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Royal Copenhagen from 1898, and is considered one of the most influential royal Danish sculptors of the 20th century.
