Housed in an old richly decorated gilt wood and gesso frame. Provenance: Maison Jules Veilinghuis, May 14, 2022, lot 36. Karel Van Belle was born in Gent, Belgium in 1884 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts there. Van Belle painted various subjects all with a poetic sense that emphasized the beauty of womanhood and very often in the symbolist style. Van Belle also produced a number of religious themed works in various mediums including a large variety of Madonna paintings. One of a kind artwork. European Symbolist Style Fine Art For Collectors.
