Wilhelm Friedrich Giessel, Austrian, 1869 to 1938, oil on canvas genre painting depicting a man with a bird in a cage. Signed by the artist lower left. Housed in a richly decorated golt wood and gesso frame. Wilhelm Giessel was an Austrian genre painter influenced by the Munich painter Eduard von Grutzner, known for his historic tavern scenes. Giessel was active in Vienna. One of a kind artwork. Antique European Fine Art For Collectors.
