Georg Arnold-Grabone, German, 1896 to 1982, oil on canvas painting depicting a landscape with mountain massif. Signed by the artist lower left. Original stretcher, housed in an original wooden silver tone frame. Provenance: Wendl Kunstauktionshaus, 103rd Summer Auction, 06.23.2022-06.25.2022, lot 3030. Georg Arnold-Grabone was a German Impressionist painter of landscapes, mountain motifs, marines. Studied at the academies in Stuttgart, Vienna and Munich with Zugel and in Berlin with Liebermann. Since 1932 professor in Zurich. In the post-war period taught e.g. Eisenhower and Churchill in Drawing and Painting. Arnold-Grabone became well known for his unique style of Palette knife painting. His technique used the texture of thickly applied paint to create an actual three-dimensional representation of a landscape. One of a kind artwork. European Fine Art For Collectors.
