George Barrie, four original 1893 and 1894 photoengravings after the paintings titled The Pickwick Club by the British painter Charles Green, 1840 to 1898, Episode In the War of Independence by the Spanish painter Cesar Alvarez Dumont, 1866 to 1945, Charles VI of France and Odette by the Belgian painter Albrecht De Vriendt, 1843 to 1900, and Reception at the Doge's Palace by the Swiss painter Luigi Rossi, 1853 to 1923. All exhibited at the Worlds Columbian Exposition, entitled in pencil and sealed with the impressed stamps, copyrighted in the plates. From 1893 to 1895 the Philadelphia printer and publisher, George Barrie, was at work upon a large and lavish series of original engravings detailing exhibits of the fine art from participating countries at the exposition.
