SCULPTURE THE ANGEL OF THE CITY BY MARINO MARINI
Marino Marini, 1901 to 1980, bronze sculpture after his seminal work The Angel of the City, 1948 depicting a horse and rider with his arms stretched out to either side. Cast circa the mid 20th century. Marino Marini was an Italian artist best known for his figurative equestrian sculptures. There is a museum dedicated to his work in Florence in the former church of San Pancrazio. Mid Century Italian Sculptures For Collectors.
