An orthodox Russian triptych (three-panel folding) icon, or skladen, is made of enamel over brass. The central panel depicts John the Apostle writing the Gospel with an eagle by his side. The side panels depict scenes from the life of the saint. Russian Christian Religious Items and Collectibles.
