FRENCH HUMOROUS SCENE AQUATINT BY GASTON HOFFMANN
Gaston Hoffmann, French, 1883 to 1960, limited edition colored aquatint, Nude in the Courtroom. Signed in the plate and in pencil lower right. Numbered in pencil lower left. Circa: 20th century. Framed. Gaston Hoffmann worked as a painter, decorator, cartoonist, and illustrator in France and Quebec throughout the first half of the 20th century. This painting is part of Hoffmann's series of humorous scenes featuring young women baring it all before a shocked and titillated audience inside a courtroom.
