Alexandra Ligacheva, Russian, 1915 to 2002, oil on cardboard painting in the socialist realism style depicting a train surrounded by people on the day of mourning. Dated 1952 with the stamp on verso. Alexandra Iosifovna Ligacheva graduated from the Irkutsk Art School and studied at Moscow Textile Institute. Regularly participated in all Soviet, zonal, and republican exhibitions. Her personal exhibition took place at the Moscow gallery Art Union. The lot comes from the collection of Viktor Kholodkov, a renowned art dealer and collector who devoted his life to collecting prominent works of Russian artists of the 20th century.
