RUSSIAN CHARCOAL DRAWING FISHNET BY SOLOMON BOIM
Solomon Boim, Russian, 1899 to 1978, charcoal on paper drawing Fishermen. Unraveling The Fishnet, 1937. Signed and dated lower right. Additionally signed on verso. Solomon Samsonovich Boim, a graphic artist, and painter studied at Kharkiv Art College. Continued education at the Higher Art Technical Institute VKhUTEIN, the Higher State Artistic and Technical Workshops VKhUTEMAS in Moscow. Boim exhibited his works at the 1st exhibition of graphic art in Moscow in 1926, the International Exhibition of Art of the Book in Paris and Lyon, and the jubilee exhibition of Artists of the RSFSR for 15 years in Leningrad and Moscow, and others. The lot comes from the collection of Viktor Kholodkov, a renowned art dealer and collector who devoted his life to collecting prominent works of Russian artists of the 20th century.
