RUSSIAN IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING KONSTANTIN KOROVIN - Konstantin Korovin (Russian, 1861-1939) urban landscape oil on cardboard sketch painting depicting a view of a canal of Saint Petersburg at night. Signed and dated 1918 by the artist lower right. Konstantin Alekseyevich Korovin was a leading Russian Impressionist painter. After the October Revolution till his emigration to France, Korovin continued to work in the theater, designing stages for Richard Wagners Die Walkure and Siegfried, as well as Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
