A COLLECTION OF INDONESIAN ETHNIC BRASS CHARMS
A large collection of various Indonesian Ethnic figural brass charms. All items represent certain characters. Many of the charms are made in the shape of animals, symbols, men, and others. Provenance: the present lot on auction form part of the Kuranda's family estate. The provenance of items can be tracked back to Felix Kuranda in XIX Century Austrian Empire, member of a well known family of bankers and politicians; directly related to the Karpeles, Wittelshofer, Milne And Lederer families. The most chronological recent lots are former belongings from USA veteran Major Thom Stellinger-Scott related through marriage with the Kuranda lineage. He was a veteran of Korean War as well as a reputed amateur photographer and artist. The Stellinger-Scott family resided for decades at Montauk Long Island NY.
