ANTIQUE JAPANESE ARMOUR TOSEI GUSOKU, EDO PERIOD
Classic Japanese plate armor. Consists of black lacquered metal plates intertwined with blue silk odoshi cords. The menpo face mask with a frozen grimace and bristly mustache is covered with red lacquer. Silk kote sleeves are covered with chain mail and metal overlays with embossed patterns in the form of flowers. A kabuto helmet extended to the top, also varnished, with metal emblems attached to the sides (Kamon).
