Ruth sitting by the tree. Frontispiece to the Book of Ruth. The artist depicted a very delicate image. The branches of the Tree of Life are connected like a bundle of spikes - a direct connection with the history of Ruth. Woodcut. 1924. In the lower right signed by the initials of the artist; "WF"Vladimir Favorsky (1886 - 1964) - Russian and Soviet artist, master of woodcuts and book graphics, art critic, stage designer, monumental painter, teacher and theorist of fine art.
