Russian silver candy bowl. St. Petersburg 1837
Russian silver candy bowl of the transitional Empire era into eclecticism by the Finnish master of St. Petersburg Tamas Sokhka. 1837 Retains the compositional clarity and bravura of the Empire style, but in the flower garlands and acroteria of the handle fixtures, a different era can be discerned - the emerging historicism. Thomas Sokhka 1804-1865 - known in St. Petersburg as a Finnish master since 1836. Brands of the master - TS. City hallmark of St. Petersburg 1814-1864. 84 standard silver.
