War Poster French Legion Combattants WWII Vichy Petain. Original vintage diploma issued in the Nazi occupied France for the La Legion fran�aise des combattants (LFC) - The French Legion of Fighters. LFC was an organization set up by the Vichy regime and resulting from the merger of all the associations of veterans. This organization was formally created by the law of August 29 , 1940by Marshal Petain on the proposal of Xavier Vallat. The French State assigned it the mission of "regenerating the Nation, by virtue of the example of the sacrifice of 1914-1918". Its headquarters were located at the Hotel de Seville, boulevard de Russie, in Vichy. Despite the dissolution of their associations, not all veterans joined the Legion. Good condition, creasing, small tears, minor staining, pencil mark at top right corner, large repaired tear.
