Antique c1860 Leaf and Tulip Reel Quilt - Antique c1860 Leaf and Tulip Reel Quilt measuring 91x96”. It is comprised of 16 blocks, 19 by 19 inches, set straight, 4 by 4, with a 2.5 inch brown border 4 inch solid border and a 2.5 inch brown outer border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front, applied by hand. The quilting is exceptional in this quilt. The brown may have been an ox blood red at some point. Other than the fading it is in excellent condition. It was originally purchased at an auction in upstate NY. This quilt was generously donated by Lisa Bouchard Hoe.
