Vintage c1940 String Pieced Hexagon Quilt - Vintage c1940 String Pieced Hexagon Quilt measuring 62 by 82 inches. It is comprised of 66 blocks, about 4 inches along one side, set straight and staggered, with one inch solid black stashing, and partial block setting pieces. Each hexagon is created with 6 triangles, many of the shapes string pieced. It is hand pieced, hand quilted In Baptist fan motifs. There is a medium loft batting and a gray flannel reverse. The edge is finished with and applied black fabric binding. It is in good condition with just a few small spots. A great scrappy quilts, and very graphic. This quilt was generously donated to AQSG by Cindy Reynolds of Cindy's Antique Quilts.
