Vintage c1960s The Denim Quilt Embroidered from CA - The Denim Quilt - Vintage 1960-70 Hand Embroidered and Hand Appliqued Denim Quilt from California.  It measures 74x70”.  Each denim square has a folky applique and embroidered motif with figures, flowers, and geometric motifs.  Great use of rick rack!  The border and backing are printed cotton.   A similar quilt is featured in a book by Jean Ray Laury  published in 1970, “Quilts and Coverlets: A Contemporary Approach”. The quilt there hails from Oakland, CA, made by the Third Ward Relief Society, Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, Oakland, CA.  It was machine quilted, later, 1980s-1990s based on the backing fabric.  It is in very good, like new, condition.  This quilt was generously donated by Sue Reich.
