Kibbutz Alonim First Days Kvutzat Haro'im 9 Rare Photos, 1936 - Kvutzat Haro'im - a group of 3 young shepherds arrived in 1935 to the Rakevet Ha'emek train station of Kiryat Charoshet, with the encouragement of Alexander Zeid, and built themselves living shacks. With time in the year 1936 the first settlers were joined by more members arriving through the German youth immigration, and the group grew to 70 male and female members. Next to the shacks a large tent camp was formed and kept on growing. In 1937 it was decided to call the shepherd group by the name Kibbutz Alonim after the Oak trees (Alon) ruling the hills.
