”FLIGHT OF THE JEWS FROM GERMANY!” - Anti-Semitic folding postcard, 8.5 x 6.5 in. ca, 1925, depicts an imagined return of Jews to their ”homelands”, labeled as Egypt, Italy, Spain, etc. Virtually every one of the several hundred figures is a disgusting caricature of a Jew, most shown fat with large noses, carrying their possessions as they rush from a synagogue and factories to overcrowded steamships. Many carry signs, but most are illegible as the image here was reduced from the larger original work. Nonetheless, one sign reads: ”Germany is too mean to us!”, and another lists the names: ”Sommerfeld Lesser Hirschfeld Wolff Lowey”. So detailed the image requires a loupe for viewing. Lightly toned.
