POLISH ANTI-SEMITIC POSTCARD, 1907 - Early Polish anti-Semitic postcard depicts two Polish ”Jews”, one alarmed at the sight of a shotgun leaning on a chair before his friend seated at a table. The friend consoles the man in poor Yiddish-colored Polish: ”Do not be afraid, Berku, it is not loaded. Not that I am afraid, but if God wills it [he will let it fire?]” Mailed from Mezolaborcz in northeast Slovakia, near Poland. Jews were commonly branded as cowards in anti-Semitic material of this era.
