CHECK AND RECEIPT FROM THE JEWISH CENTRAL BANK, KAUNAS - Scarce check and receipt issues by the ”Jewish Central Bank” of Kaunas, Lithuania. The unengrossed check with stub measures 10 x 4 in. and is printed in both Lithuanian and Yiddish. The receipt bears a yellow sticker on verso indicating that the bank supports the ”Jewish cooperative system in Lithuania” Yellow sticker is cleanly split, else very good. Jews in Kaunas were systematically murdered by Germans and by their fellow Lithuanians from the very start of the German invasion.
