UNION THIRD CORPS BADGES (2) - Fantastic and rare pair of Civil War-date badges from the Union Third Corps, each approx. 1.5 in. square, each constructed of brass and diamond-shaped, one from the corps' Second Division (with a white enamel center) and the other from the corps' Third Division (with a blue enamel center). Each bears an period T-bar pin on the reverse. Fine condition, and much better than is usually seen. From the renowned collection of author and historian J. Duncan Campbell, and offered from an expansive grouping of Civil War corps badges consigned to us, many of which also originate from Campbell's collection. The III Corps served with the Army of the Potomac through many of the war's notable battles, including the Seven Days Battles, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg.
