UNION FIFTH CORPS BADGES (2) - Fantastic and rare pair of Civil War-date badges from the Union Fifth Corps, each approx. 1.5 in. square, each shaped as a brass cross, one from the corps' First Division (with a red enamel center) and the other from the corps' Third Division (with a blue enamel center). Very slight enamel loss, the blue example missing its original pin, else fine. From the renowned collection of author and historian J. Duncan Campbell. Offered from an expansive grouping of Civil War corps badges consigned to us, many of which also originate from Campbell's collection. The V Corps served under the Army of the Potomac for many of the war's most notable battles, including the Second Battle of Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, and the Siege of Petersburg.
