GERMANY WARNS RESISTANCE FIGHTERS IN OCCUPIED CZECHOSLOVAKIA
Rare original Third Reich printed broadside in German and Czech on very thin paper, 24.5 x 37 in., Prague, Oct. 1939, issued during the early years of the German occupation of Bohemia and Moravia and strongly warning against acts of sabotage. It reads, in part: '...The countries of Bohemia and Moravia have thus become part of the German Empire. Public life and the economy of the Protectorate Area are a part of the entire public life of the Reich...the current situation calls for a calm and undisturbed course of public life...Anyone who does not take these needs into account reveals himself to be an enemy of the Reich and must be treated accordingly...Any acts of sabotage...will be prosecuted with inconsolable severity and punished with the harshest punishments...I absolutely expect that the Czech people will prove themselves worthy of the autonomy granted...by the Fuhrer.' The conclusion is signed in type by KONSTANTIN VON NEURATH, the Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia before Reinhard Heydrich's appointment. Folds, small tears near the central folds, else very good to fine.
