'TIDAL WAVE OVER PLOESTI'
Fine signed poster "TIDAL WAVE OVER PLOESTI", a 50th anniversary signed commemorative of the Ploesti Raid painted by the late Bryan Moon, limited to 1800. Overall size 24.5 x 31.5 in. and signed by one member of each American bomber group involved in the attack. Included is: Col. Charles E. Hughes, pilot B-24 "Flossy Flirt", 44th BG; Col. Charles T. Merrill, pilot B-24 "Thar She Blows", 93rd BG; SSgt. Merle L. Bolen, gunner B-24 "The Sandman", 98th BG; Col. Norman C. Appold, pilot B-24 "G.I. Ginnie", 376th BG; and Lt. Col. John T. Blackis, pilot B-24 "Scheherazade", 389th BG Artist Bryan Moon, former CEO of MIA Hunters, also signed each print. Originally, fragments from a crashed B-24 were sold with the prints would be affixed in the bottom center - this item bears the original signatures alone. Fine condition.
