JOSEPH ROSENTHAL - (1911 - 2006) American press photographer who covered the Pacific during World War II, captured the iconic photograph of Marines hoisting the flag on Iwo Jima. Signed cover of the Jan. 22, 1995 issue of the 'Boston Sunday Globe' magazine, 10 x 11.5 in., showing Rosenthal's iconic 'flag raisers' photograph beneath the headline: 'PARADE'. Rosenthal signs in blue ink at the lower-left, adding: 'AP Photographer...Iwo Jima...1945'. Signature slightly shaky, indicating execution late in life, else fine.
